Literacy in Canada
Welcome to the Literacy in Canada module. The module begins with an introduction to the realities and consequences of literacy in Canada, including some of the statistics that reveal the scope of the challenges. The diverse groups of learners highlighted at the forum are presented in eight capsules, which contain information and insights into:
- Early Learning and Literacy
- School-Age Literacy
- Adult Learners
- Community Literacy
- Literacy for Aboriginal Populations
- Literacy for Francophones in Minority Settings
- Literacy for Newcomers
- Workplace and Workforce Literacy
The module is designed in capsules so that parts can be used independently. There are introductory and concluding sections that everyone is encouraged to use. The capsules are accessible individually so that they can be viewed in any order or chosen for direct interest.
